Team Bio’s

If you’re poking around in here, I’m guessing that you’ve read the “About Team Infected” page, and are looking for a bit more info into what makes up the team.  Well look no further.

Callsign: SpamMan

Age: 30

Airsoft Guns: M14, M4, M249, USP, P226, MP7, SCAR

Started Playing Airsoft: December 2006

Favorite Quote: War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. — John Stuart Mill

Team Roles: Team Leader, Team Founder, Marksman / Sniper, Support Gunner / Heavy Weapons, Rifleman

Origin of Callsign: In college I had this strong dislike for Spam (the processed food substance). Face it… it’s not natural and should not be consumed. My obsession with disliking Spam began to peak when a friend bought me a can of Spam as a gag gift. The can had an offer plastered on it for a “Spam Racing #9 Nascar toy”. The offer had already expired. Now you know as well as I do, offers like that usually are good for 2 years. How long had this thing been on the shelf??? The natural progression led to my friends calling me The SpamMan or SpamMan for short. It stuck. To this day I still have that nasty can of processed dog food known as Spam on my desk.

About SpamMan: I’m a father of 4, and have one of my family member’s in the Marine Corps. I myself had looked into joining the Navy as a teenager to attempt to get into flight-school and later become a fighter pilot, but my vision was not up to par to do it. I love to follow politics and am a supporter of our armed forces and all that they do to protect our rights and freedom. These guys put themselves in harms way daily to protect our rights to freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the right to free speech among other things. They say imitation is the biggest form of flattery… and I consider airsoft to be an extension of that.

God has given me the finances and opportunity to play this game, and as such I give Him all the glory for it. He is my leader, my father, and my friend. He’s harsh when He needs to be, and gentle when it counts. He is perfect, and I love Him for it. With this in mind, you can see where our team vision comes from. We play hard, we play to win, but in the ends the glory is His and it’s all about having fun on the field.

Callsign: Nomad

Age: 37

Airsoft Weapons: M4, Desert Eagle

Started Playing Airsoft: 2008

Favorite Quote: Hmmm. Quite a few actually.
“What we do in life, echoes in eternity.” – Maximus Decimus Meridius.
“Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!” – Emiliano Zapata
“We make war, that we may live in peace” – Aristotle
“I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121: 1-2.
Team Roles: Spotter, Rifleman, Recon

Origin of Callsign: All my life, I’ve moved from place to place. I am an American, but growing up, my parents’ jobs took us to: Honduras; Washington, D.C. ; Bolivia; Costa Rica; El Salvador; and D.C. again. I went to college in Portland, OR. After college, I spent a couple of years in Egypt. I moved to Phoenix, AZ for grad school. Upon graduation, I moved back to El Salvador for another 8 years. Currently, I live in Atlanta, GA. At one time or another I’ve been to almost every country in Latin America. I have also worked in several countries in Europe and Asia.
Where is home? Anywhere where the suitcases sit in the storage room for more than 6 months. Where am I from? I’m from everywhere and no where. Hence, the call sign.

About Nomad: Some quick facts:
– God has blessed me richly in this life. I have three fantastic kids and I was lucky enough to marry my best friend. I have a great job that that I feel passionate about, and which allows me just enough financial freedom to get deeper and deeper into airsoft.
– My wife thinks my airsoft obsession is fairly silly, but she is supportive of my chosen hobby. When I come home covered in welts she just looks at me, smiles, and shakes her head.
– I speak Spanish and English fluently. Picked up a bit of Arabic along the way too. Work for the CIA? No; and if I did would I admit to it?
– I climbed the Great Pyramid in Giza in the middle of the night. Shhhhh. That’s a no-no in Egyptian law.
– I was eating breakfast burritos about 30 years before fast food restaurants started serving them.

About Spoon Man: I’m a high school senior (1 more year!) and a teacher. I’m interested in people, psychology, history, and politics. I’m planning on joining the Army and going into Rangers, then transferring into SEAL’s training.
